The benefits of bitesized mindfulness within everyday life

I came across this short TED talk by Kira Willey on the benefits of bite-sized mindfulness for children's everyday life.



Mindfulness has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress, improve self-awareness, focus and concentration as well as to help children with their behaviours and emotional regulation.


Often people see mindfulness as an add-on that they have to squeeze in to their hectic lifestyle on top of everything else. However, Kira presents this in a very different manner. She advocates for making mindfulness a consistent part of your everyday routine. This can be used either at home or school to help children to calm and control themselves so that they can better focus on what they are doing. Taking a few moments to prioritize this, can pay dividends in many other areas of life.
