Here is a list of some of our frequently asked questions. If you can not find the answer that you are looking for, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.

  • Can you provide crisis support?
We are unable to provide support outside of your scheduled appointment times. If you have an emergency or require urgent crisis support, we have included a list of available services you can contact on our crisis resources page.
  • What are your working hours?
At present our core hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8.30am and 4.30pm. However, we are able to offer a limited number of appointments outside of these times in the evenings. Please contact us to discuss this more.
  • How do you handle confidentiality?
All of our sessions are kept confidential, which means that we will not disclose information to a third party unless you have given us permission to do so. There are however, a few excepts to this. We do discuss some cases in our own supervision sessions, which are in place to ensure that we continue to provide the best possible service. However, all supervisors sign a contract to ensure that they keep this information confidential and it is not shared on. The only other time that we would need to break confidentiality is if you talked about harm to yourself or to someone else, in which case we have a duty of care to act to ensure that this person is safe.
  • Do you work in schools?
Our service is located in South East Devon, and can provide direct targeted support in schools which are in commutable distance. Please contact us to discuss this more.
  • Do you provide mental health support?
At present our support is aimed directly at helping people to gain the best possible understanding of Autism and ways to manage this effectively. As part of this work we will be able to provide strategies to improve your mental health and wellbeing. However, please note that it is not our intention to provide targeted support for specific mental health conditions. If this is your goal, we would recommend that you access mental health services for this instead.
  • Who needs to attend the initial appointment session?
The initial appointment will focus on understanding what your goals for sessions are, and who would best benefit from being involved in this work. Where this work pertains to child and young people, and they are going to be part of the sessions, we would recommend that they attend the initial appointment, along with a parent or guardian. It will, however, be possible to speak to the Psychologist separately if required.
  • What are your payment terms?
In order to secure an appointment, full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • Where do you work?
We can offer a mix of online and face to face support. We offer sessions remotely via Teams video link. This means we are able to offer support from the comfort of your own home. It will be important, however, to ensure that you call us from a quiet uninterrupted space, so as to be able to get the most out of your sessions. We also have office spaces that we rent in Exeter so that we can work face to face if your prefer.
  • What happens if I wish to cancel my appointment?
We require at least 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment, otherwise this will be subject to the full payment fee.
